Since my last screenshot, I added the smoke for the caterpillar, by creating grey circles and lowering the opacity, I also added a background for the front cover which is the same as the pocket watch.
Examples of colouring drawings and selecting book publisher symbols.
I then used more of my drawings and coloured them on photoshop adding them to my book cover.
I played around with the different sizes and how things 'fitted together. I then went on 'dafont' in order to find a font which would fit my book cover design. Finally I came to the decision of a font called 'sparkling' which I really liked as it was readable but had a touch of magic and journey.
From my original cover, I copy and pasted the different layers to create a design using all the things I had already done.
Half way through designing, I wasn't happy at all with what I had created, I then used of roses that i had photographed, removed the background and overlaid them creating a overlapped pattern, the reason I did this was to represent 'the roses' "paint the roses red' in the film/book, as the vibrant red colour would not fit my colour scheme, in photoshop I later converted it into a blue sky type colour, using a filter.
