Colour Schemes

Colour Schemes

M O N O C R O M A T I C
Within this monochromatic I have used different shades of purple, I chose this colour as Alice's dress is blue, and I feel the colour blue allowed me to use a range of different shades to contrast monochromatic.

I feel this looks slightly odd as having blue skin isn't exactly socially acceptable.. or realistic.

However, If I was designing an all blue/monocromatic book cover, It would fit in well as it gives a sense of trippyness the idea of wonderland being in a different world/dream.

By looking at the colour wheel, I chose two colours which complemented each other - YELLOW and PURPLE.

When doing this I used a range of warm and cool purples and yellows to give the image more depth. Before doing this colour scheme I automatically thought it was going to look awful, However I quite like the complimentary effect.

The downside of this is that the two colours don't really have relevance if i used them for my final piece, and I feel they limit my design.

For my analogous colour scheme I decided to use the colours blue, yellows and greens,
I chose this colour scheme as I wanted to get a good range of different colours into my colour scheme to help me figure out what colours worked well together.

The colours I used for my triadic colour scheme were green, pink and blue. I didn't really like these colours together and fond it very difficult to try and make it look appealing.
